Week 6: Stanford in the NFL

Week 6 of the NFL season brought a mix of steady contributions, quiet outings and a few highlight plays from former Stanford players. As teams battle through the mid-season stretch, several Cardinal continue to make their mark on Sundays across the league.

**Standout Performances**

While there were no massive breakout games, a handful of players made meaningful contributions for their teams this week, showing that the Cardinal are present all over the field.

**Christian McCaffrey ’18 (RB, San Francisco 49ers)** — McCaffrey had his first rushing touchdown of the season, finishing with 54 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, plus seven catches for 57 yards in San Francisco’s 30–19 loss to Tampa Bay. The Colorado native became the first running back in NFL history to record 50 or more receiving yards in each of his team’s first six games of a season. Even in defeat, he remained the heartbeat of the 49ers’ offense.

**Paulson Adebo ’23 (CB, New York Giants)** — Adebo was everywhere in the Giants’ 34–17 statement win over Philadelphia, racking up seven tackles (five solo). His consistency in coverage continues to shine each week.

**Kyu Blu Kelly ’23 (CB, Las Vegas Raiders)** — Kelly recorded five solo tackles in the Raiders’ 20–10 win over Tennessee, continuing to grow into a key piece of Las Vegas’ secondary.

**Michael Wilson ’22 M.A. ’22 (WR, Arizona Cardinals)** — Wilson hauled in four receptions, for 44 yards, on five targets in Arizona’s narrow 31–27 loss to Indianapolis, showing solid chemistry with a different quarterback under center.

**Zach Ertz ’13 (TE, Washington Commanders)** — Ertz had a strong performance this week after having no catches last week. He caught six passes for 43 yards and a touchdown, in a 24-25 loss against the Chicago Bears.

* **Bobby Okereke ’18 (LB, New York Giants)** – Six tackles (two solo) in New York’s win over Philadelphia.

* **Joshua Karty ’24 M.S. ’26 (K, Los Angeles Rams)** – Went 1-for-2 on field goals (long of 36) and hit both extra points as the Rams beat the Ravens 17–3.
