Patriots shake up practice squad ahead of Titans game

The Patriots have replaced one practice squad tight end with another and released a defensive back from the 17-man unit.

Marshall Lang, a 23-year-old tight end, was in Seahawks training camp after signing with Seattle as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern this summer. Lang had 48 career catches for 491 yards and four touchdowns in 47 collegiate games for the Wildcats.

The Patriots released Tyron Herring, a defensive back and tight end Gee Scott.

Harring had been on the practice squad for just over a month. The 24-year-old had been in camp with the Packers after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Delaware.

Scott, a teammate of TreVeyon Henderson at Ohio State, signed with New England as an undrafted free agent in May and was in camp with the Patriots. He was cut at the end of camp. He was been signed to and cut from the practice squad twice.

The Patriots have one spot open on their practice squad.
