Jason Kelce was prompted to speak out on fake quotes attributed to him after viral made-up quotes on Bad Bunny performing at the Super Bowl.
Kelce has become a media and network star since he retired from the NFL following the 2023 season. He has used his platform to speak out against the Tush Push play, which he effectively addressed as a player on the Eagles' offensive line.

However, Kelce’s newfound fame comes with its own set of issues. The 37-year-old is frustrated by the sharing of fabricated quotes regarding the decision to have Bad Bunny perform at the Super Bowl, which has proved to be a controversial move.

United States President Donald Trump recently waged war on Bad Bunny, claiming the NFL was wrong for giving him the prestigious Super Bowl appearance, given his previously stated dislike for the president and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Meanwhile, TurningPoint USA, the political group founded by late MAGA activist Charlie Kirk, is also planning an 'All American Halftime Show' as an alternative to Bad Bunny’s show.
Amid this fallout, quotes from Kelce circulated online regarding the Super Bowl controversy. One viral quote read: “If Bad Bunny is a bad fit for the Super Bowl, then maybe the people making these comments are a bad fit for America's future.”
The fake quotes were widely circulated online, leading to immense vitriol and pushback against Kelce. He decided to speak out and insist the quotes are fake amid the abuse.
“I normally don’t comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now,” Kelce posted. “I appreciate @X putting community notes on several, and I will not address the other accounts specifically, because I do not want to amplify their engagement.
“But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real.”

It’s currently unclear what Kelce’s true thoughts on Bad Bunny are, although he will likely address the Super Bowl and its performer at some stage on his ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother Travis.
Recently, Bad Bunny attended the New York Yankees’ series against the Toronto Blue Jays, sparking controversy. After being targeted by Trump following the Super Bowl announcement, Bad Bunny stayed seated during the rendition of “God Bless America.”
This was because the 31-year-old was frustrated that Trump said he was Latin and not American, even though he hails from Puerto Rico.
Ultimately, Bad Bunny is rising above the noise and relishing the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl. He was the host of Saturday Night Live recently, and told viewers: “You might not know this, but I'm doing the Super Bowl halftime show and I'm very happy and I think everyone is happy about it — even Fox News.”
A heavily edited clip then played, featuring an edited mock-up of comments from various Fox anchors and pundits, in which they said: “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician and he should be the next president.”

Bad Bunny continued: “Thank you. Wow, thank you. But really, I am very excited to be doing the Super Bowl, and I know that people all around the world who love my music are also happy.”
