Jonathan Kuminga is finally back with the Golden State Warriors, but he is still looking a bit disgruntled.
The Warriors forward Kuminga managed to get ejected from Tuesday’s preseason game against the Portland Trail Blazers. In the closing seconds of the first half at Moda Center in Portland, Oreg., Kuminga was driving to the basket and didn’t get a foul call despite taking contact from multiple Blazers defenders.
After losing the ball, Kuminga apparently went to berate referee Rodney Mott, who was the one on top of the play. Kuminga was then given two technical fouls on the spot and ejected after reportedly making contact with Mott.
Here is the video of the play.
While Kuminga’s confrontation of Mott was not caught on video (possibly because the arena only had one camera in operation for the preseason game), the TV commentator noted that Kuminga “made contact with the official.”

Kuminga, who finished Tuesday’s preseason game with seven points, six rebounds, and four assists in his 18 total minutes of action, probably had a legitimate gripe there. In particular, it looked like Portland’s Kris Murray got him with a swipe across the arm on the drive.
The 23-year-old Kuminga just ended his very lengthy offseason stalemate with the Warriors a couple of weeks ago, agreeing to a new multi-year deal (albeit with some strings attached). 2025-26 will be a crucial year for Kuminga’s development and financial prospects, and you can already see that he may be a little bit short-tempered as a result.
