Cleveland Browns fail to score 20 points again: Crowquill

CLEVELAND, Ohio — There are many questions that could be asked about why the Cleveland Browns (1-5) offense has failed yet again to score at least 20 points in a game. Turnovers, dropped balls, no running game, poor pass protection, the play-calling, untimely penalties and their youth all add up to an offense that has gone 11 straight games without scoring more than 17 points.

The Browns streak continued in Pittsburgh against the Steelers Sunday where they failed to score a touchdown. The running game which had begun to show promise with the addition of rookie running back Quinshon Judkins was stopped dead in its tracks. And the passing game led by rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel was unable to pick up the slack because he didn’t have time to throw. When he did have time the receivers often dropped the ball.

This week the Browns entertain the Miami Dolphins (1-5). The game provides an opponent that is more their speed and should answer some of the questions about the offense. After starting the season with six tough opponents, the Browns get a breather if there such a thing in the NFL.
