Manchester United head into the Premier League clash at Liverpool hopeful of a full squad being fit enough for Ruben Amorim to pick from

Manchester United travel to Liverpool this weekend with both sets of managers under scrutiny ahead of the Premier League fixture.

Ruben Amorim is no stranger to the pressure surrounding him having endured a difficult start to life as United head coach. Defeat to Brentford last month appeared to have the Portuguese in peril albeit MEN Sport understands that Sir Jim Ratcliffe did not consider sacking him after that loss.

Victory over Sunderland prior to the international break alleviated some of the concerns but Amorim knows that criticism is only one bad result away from returning. As for Arne Slot, he is under fire for the first time as Liverpool head coach having lost three games in a row across all competitions.

Ahead of the big game, MEN Sport has taken a look at the latest injury news and potential concerns heading into the clash on Merseyside.

Lisandro Martinez

Injury: ACL

What we know: This injury has kept Martinez in the treatment room since the beginning of February. Fortunately, the popular centre-back is nearing a return to full group training after a patient rehabilitation process at Carrington.

What Amorim said in September: "When you have that injury, [it is really important] you have that time where you recover a lot of things really hard, then there is the boring part where it looks like you don't go to the next step. We miss a lot Licha, especially in this moment, we miss his aggression in everything he does, we miss him. But he's always there in every meeting. In training, he sometimes finishes his and stays to watch the training. We need Licha in this team."

Potential return date: November 8 vs Tottenham Hotspur

Noussair Mazraoui

Injury: Unknown

What Amorim said in October: "Nous is not going to be here until we stop for the international teams. He is out also."

Potential return date: October 19 vs Liverpool
