Jack Grealish has been offered advice over what he should do if he wants to turn his Everton loan move into a permanent transfer from former Blues winger Pat Nevin
Everything fits now for Jack Grealish at Everton, but the on-loan Manchester City player is going to have to “take a hit” on his wages if he’s going to come to Hill Dickinson Stadium in a permanent transfer deal.
That’s the verdict of former Blues winger Pat Nevin who signed for from Chelsea for £925,000 and played 150 games between 1988-92, scoring 21 goals. Grealish – who cannot play against his parent club in Saturday’s match at the Etihad Stadium – was named Premier League Player of the Month for August, the first time he had received the honour which came in the week of his 30th birthday, after providing four assists in his first two starts in the competition.
The Brummie ace then followed that up by opening his account for the club by netting Everton’s first-ever stoppage time winner at Hill Dickinson Stadium to complete a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Crystal Palace and prevent the Eagles from extending their club record unbeaten run to 20 matches. Given Grealish’s impressive start on Merseyside, talk has turned to whether David Moyes’ men can keep him on beyond the current campaign.
Speaking courtesy of OLBG, Nevin said: “I think (a permanent deal for Grealish) will happen if the finances get sorted. That is another gigantic if, because the finances are pretty extreme.

“I’d say it’ll take a lot of money to get him. He went for £100million when £100million was a lot of money.
“Everton can’t spend half of that. They can’t go near that sort of stuff, but they’d love to get them.
“The other thing is wages for Jack. They are extraordinary for Everton Football Club.
“So, you have to take all these things into consideration. Whether Jack’s willing to do a deal to take a hit in the finances we will see.
“Again, for me, from where I come from, my background is you've probably got enough money, you’re all right, do you want to enjoy your last few years of your career? Go there and enjoy it.
“So, if he was being advised by me, it would be the best deal we can get from Everton but do not expect what you’re on now and hope that Manchester City are understanding.
“Because everything fits now for Jack Grealish at Everton. Fans absolutely adore him.
“Complete freedom working with a team now that plays with a system and a style and an attitude that suits everything about him.
“So, I hope it happens. Do I think it will happen? That's different, you know, but I hope so.”
