STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Tottenville High School senior Robert Brisk has been nominated for the 2025 USA Football Heart of a Giant Award, presented by the New York Giants and Hospital for Special Surgery.
The Heart of a Giant program highlights high school football players from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut who demonstrate dedication, teamwork, and perseverance both on and off the field. Within 12 years, the annual program has expanded to include all Tri-State high school flag football athletes, student managers, and mascots who also demonstrate commitment and dedication to the game.
The award process runs over six weeks, highlighting a new group of high school nominees each week. The nominees with the most votes will be named that week’s finalist.
Robert Brisk has excelled as a four-year football player at Tottenville where he has exhibited perseverance and tenacity throughout his academic and athletic career. At a young age, he faced challenges, including losing his father as a child and being raised by his grandparents. Despite such challenges, Brisk has earned Honor Roll recognition, passed the Algebra 1 Regents exam early, and taken on the responsibility of working at a young age.
Brian Neville, Tottenville High School College and Career Counselor and Head Football Coach, praised Brisk.
“He loves being part of the team and comes out every day, works hard, and puts the team ahead of himself. He sets a great example of what it means to be a part of a team sport,” he said.
The voting period for week six nominees is now open. At the end of the six week program, six finalists and five honorable mentions will be recognized, with each finalist earning a $1,000 equipment grant for their school. The grand prize winner will receive an additional $9,000 and be honored at a future Giants game this season.
Voting for Brisk’s group closes on Oct. 26. For additional information on the award program, its nominees, and to cast your vote -- please visit -- usafootball.com or click here.
