Much has been said about the Green Bay Packers’ defense since the arrival of Micah Parsons. Many believed at the time of his trade to Green Bay that he was the missing piece that would take the Packers over the hump. The jury is still out on that thought, but the case isn’t entirely convincing at the moment, given how Green Bay has performed on that side of the field of late.
After giving up 40 points in a tie with Dallas, the Packers put up an inconsistent defensive performance that started strong against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6 before struggling to sustain that form the rest of the way.
Nevertheless, Green Bay remains a top-10 team in scoring defense and top five in total defense, as they prepare for their next game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.
Micah Parsons wants to see more from Packers defense

While Parsons appears to have settled in with his new surroundings following his trade from the Dallas Cowboys, he knows that there’s plenty of work to be done for Green Bay’s defense to live up to the hype following his arrival in Titletown.
The former Penn State Nittany Lions star recently addressed Green Bay’s defense, which is seemingly dropping in form as games go deeper.
“Just the first half, it just shows who we are,” Parsons said, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN. “Like we’ve been trying to figure it out. We’ve been showing glimpses, but how can we just do it for a complete four quarters? We held up our end of the bargain, we held them to under 20, so I’m just happy we got a win. But we want to get to that point where we get teams under 14, 10, hold them to that range all game.”
Against the Bengals, the Packers held Joe Flacco and company scoreless in the first period, but they still let Cincinnati hang around up to the fourth quarter. It appears that, for all the talent that Green Bay has on its defense, it’s still a work in progress for the team’s stop unit.
