Enzo Maresca has been handed a one-match touchline ban for his exuberant celebration in Chelsea's recent victory over Liverpool. Just before the international break, the Italian watched his side achieve, arguably, the most significant Premier League victory of his time at Stamford Bridge.
At the time, the Blues had suffered back-to-back Premier League defeats to Manchester United and Brighton and Hove Albion and desperately needed a victory against the Premier League champions to breathe new life into their campaign. When Estevao Willian slid in a 96th minute winner against the Merseysiders, Maresca ran down the touchline and jumped into his celebrating players, while hugging Chelsea fans in the front row.
The ex-Leicester City manager had already been booked by the referee for dissent and his Jose Mourinho-esque charge down the touchline earned him a second yellow card and a subsequent red. Maresca's antics have landed himself a ban from the FA.
In a statement, the FA wrote: "Enzo Maresca has been given a one-match touchline ban and an £8,000 fine for misconduct during the Premier League game between Chelsea and Liverpool on Saturday 4 October.
"It was alleged that the manager acted in an improper manner and/or used abusing and/or insulting words and/or behaviour during the fixture, which led to his dismissal round the 96th minute. Enzo Maresca subsequently admitted the charge and accepted the standard penalty."

As a result, he will be absent for the Blues' trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday lunchtime.
After the match, he took to Instagram and admitted he was disappointed with his dismissal. He wrote: "Winning at the last moment was a beautiful joy for all of us.
"It was a shame not to be present at the final whistle to celebrate with our wonderful fans. Now recovery energy and focus in what we can do better."
