Giannis Antetokounmpo reveals where he’ll go after his NBA career ends

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a bona fide Milwaukee Bucks legend, no matter what happens. The Greek Freak brought the city its first NBA championship in 50 years in 2021. While there has been speculation about a potential exit, it would be hard to find a Bucks fan who would talk poorly about Giannis.

Antetokounmpo’s family and his heritage are extremely important to him. That’s why it added fuel to the trade fire when reports came out recently that his wife and children had moved back to Greece. But something he recently said about his eventual retirement might be the actual answer as to why his family made the move.

“I’m 30 years old, I can play in the NBA until I’m 36-38. I’d like to end my career in a Greek team, why not?” Giannis said on ANT1’s The 2night Show. “I don’t want to live in the United States. As soon as I leave the NBA, I want to return to Greece. I could end my career here, whether this team is called Filathlitikos, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, or Aris, I’m talking about all the teams now.”

Giannis has spoken in the past about wanting to be like Tim Duncan. The Spurs superstar dropped entirely out of the limelight following his incredible career, and it seems Antetokounmpo wishes to do the same.
