Anthony Gordon came through the ranks at Everton before leaving for Newcastle United in 2023.
Everton developed Anthony Gordon at Finch Farm, and he ended up making 78 appearances for the club, netting seven times whilst laying on eight assists.
Gordon joined Newcastle in a £45m transfer in January 2023 and has since established himself as an England international.
Gordon was in action for the Three Lions last night and speaking after the 5-0 win against Latvia, former Toffees defender Conor Coady revealed what the 24-year-old was really like behind the scenes at Finch Farm.

Conor Coady shares what Anthony Gordon was really like at Everton
Speaking on the Football Daily podcast, Conor Coady explained just how driven Anthony Gordon was at Everton.
“But no, I played with Anthony Gordon at Everton and his mentality was the same back then,” the Wrexham centre-back revealed.
“Even a good few years ago when he was a young boy coming through at Everton, he just wants to be the best. He wants to, if he was sat here now, he’d speak without a smile on his face because he’s so serious in every aspect when it comes to football.

“And I fully believe what he told us there in that interview. I fully believe he was so focused on trying to be the best player on the pitch. He will openly tell you that.”
Everton hold sell-on clause on Anthony Gordon
Gordon has been linked with a £100m move to Liverpool in the past and at the moment, given the form he’s in, it seems there are legs to a mega-money transfer down the line.
Everton will be keeping close tabs on any forthcoming developments on his situation, as they hold a sell-on clause.
It’s not known exactly what the sell-on clause percentage is, but either way, they’ll be in line to make a decent amount on top of the £45m they sold him for.
Arsenal have been linked to Gordon recently.
