Jets' Aaron Glenn Sends Strong Message on Breece Hall Trade Rumors

Sitting at 0-6, rumors have begun to swirl about the New York Jets potentially parting ways with star running back Breece Hall prior to the NFL trade deadline. However, Aaron Glenn would like to see Hall remain in New York for the foreseeable future.

Given where the Jets currently stand, the rumors surrounding Hall make all the sense in the world considering the fact that Hall is entering the final year of his rookie deal. Should the Jets be hesitant to give Hall a long-term extension, it would certainly seem to make sense to move him for assets prior to the trade deadline.

Hall has been one of the lone bright spots on an otherwise mediocre Jets offense this season, rushing for 410 yards in the team’s first six games, the 11th most of any running back in football.

If Hall does get made available by the Jets, there will likely be no shortage of contending teams looking to bolster their running back room.

Both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers, among others, have been rumored to be looking at bringing in running back depth, either due to injury at the position with the Chargers or inefficiency at the position for the Chiefs.

Prior to the 2025 NFL season, Aaron Glenn made it incredibly clear that he did not want to trade Hall despite his contract situation. Now that the speculation has further ramped up due to the team’s poor start to the season, Glenn further addressed the topic while speaking with reporters on Wednesday, saying that his feelings are still the same regarding Hall.

“They’re rumors, I still feel the same way,” said Glenn.

It certainly makes sense for Glenn to feel this way, given the productivity Hall has shown this season in New York. Whether first-year Jets GM Darren Mougey feels the same way may be an entirely different story.

The harsh reality of the Jets’ current situation is that no team has ever made the postseason after a 0-6 start to the year. Unless we see something unprecedented come from the Jets for the remainder of the year, it may be wise to trade some of their current assets for draft capital to better prepare for the future as a rebuilding team.

With this in mind, it sure seems like Hall could still be a name to watch leading up to the trade deadline, regardless of how Glenn feels about the situation. Especially considering how Glenn may already find himself on the hot seat just six years into his Jets tenure.
