Ty Law Sees Something goat-like in Drake Maye That Patriots Fans Will Love

Drake Maye’s breakout season is turning heads across the league, and his name is beginning to surface in early MVP talks. The young quarterback has completely transformed the New England Patriots’ offense, showcasing the second-year jump fans were eager to see.

Now sitting at 4-2 and back atop the standings for the first time in years, Maye’s growing reputation as the franchise leader feels well-earned and still climbing.

What’s catching people’s attention isn’t just the wins. It’s how Maye is distributing the football and managing games that has Patriots Hall of Famer Ty Law drawing some serious comparisons.

“He’s finding ways to get everybody involved,” Law said during an appearance on Boston’s WEEI. “You know what I mean? That’s the thing that I’m most impressed about. Not only is his patience and how he’s handling himself in situations, he’s spreading the ball around. Again, it brings us back to Tom Brady as far as not having that premier wide receiver. He’s finding ways to win.”

Law knows a thing or two about championship football. He shared the field with Tom Brady during the early days of the Patriots’ dynasty, helping New England capture three Super Bowls.

Back then, Brady didn’t have a traditional superstar wideout either, Randy Moss arrived only after Law left the team. When a Pro Football Hall of Famer makes that kind of comparison, it underscores how impressive Maye’s growth has been in just his second NFL season.

Throughout the offseason, first-year Patriots coach Mike Vrabel encouraged Maye to study Brady, both on and off the field. Maye later revealed he reviewed game film of Brady working with current offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

So far, Vrabel has watched Maye grow more confident with every start, and the young quarterback appears firmly on the right path moving forward.
