Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Veteran point guard Russell Westbrook agreed to sign with the Sacramento Kings, a league source told UPI on Wednesday.
The nine-time All-Star, who would play his 18th season, averaged 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game last season for the Denver Nuggets.
Westbrook, 36, will suit up for his seventh different team in 2025-26. The 2016-17 NBA MVP averaged 21.2 points, 8.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game through the first 1,237 appearances of his career.
The Kings will host the Los Angeles Clippers in a preseason game at 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday in Sacramento. They will battle the Los Angeles Lakers in their preseason finale Friday in Los Angeles.
The Kings will face the Phoenix Suns in their regular-season opener Oct. 22 in Phoenix.
