Nico O'Reilly makes Golden Boy shortlist

Nico O'Reilly is one of 25 players shortlisted for the 2025 Golden Boy award.

On the back of penning a new long-term deal with City and being called up into the latest England senior squad, the 20-year-old will now have the opportunity of winning one of the most coveted young player awards in Europe,

Among the other contenders are Real Madrid’s Dean Huijsen, Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly, Borussia Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham and Tottenham’s Archie Gray.

Established by Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport, the winner is chosen by sports journalists and must play for a European top tier side and be under age of 21.

There is also a Golden Boy Web award which is an online public vote and includes the full list of 100 nominees -and you can cast your vote for Nico**here.**

Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are all past winners, with only Mario Balotelli receiving the award while a City player, though this was largely for his exploits with Inter Milan over the previous 12 months.

Good luck, Nico!
