Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Juventus midfield mainstay Khephren Thuram.
According to a report from TBR, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham are all interested in acquiring the services of Khephren Thuram. However, they are unlikely to get their hands on the French international, as Juventus have rebuffed quite a few enquiries from Premier League clubs over the last six months.
After making a name for himself at OGC Nice, Thuram joined Juventus in the summer of 2024. While fans questioned the move, the 24-year-old hasn’t looked back since moving to Turin. He has established himself as one of their mainstays and has managed to cement his place in the French national team ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Thuram’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs have been linked with him, and quite a few of them made an enquiry about him during the summer. Reports suggested that he could be on the move because of Juventus’ financial situation.
Premier League giants are ready to battle for Thuram
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham were among the clubs that wanted to learn more about a potential transfer. The Blues see him as an ideal fit for their project. They want a reliable figure in midfield with Romeo Lavia struggling to stay fit, and Thuram is quite high on their list of targets.
Liverpool seek more competition in the centre of the park, and Thuram has been on their wishlist for some time now. Arsenal and Tottenham are looking to add more depth and quality. Despite having signed Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard in the summer, Mikel Arteta’s team remain keen on his signature.
Meanwhile, Thomas Frank isn’t pleased with the performances of his current midfield options and wants to freshen things up by signing Thuram.
Juventus are not willing to sell Thuram
While they did try to enquire about the 24-year-old during the summer, the four Premier League clubs were quickly informed to move on. Juventus consider him untouchable, and they rejected all advances for the young midfielder.
The English clubs had an opportunity to sign him back in the day before he made the move to Juventus. While they retain interest in him, they are unlikely to prise him away from the Turin-based giants anytime soon.
The Old Lady are looking to build their new project around the 24-year-old and they have no intentions of listening to offers. With his contract running until 2029, Juventus are in complete control of his future.
