FOXBOROUGH – The Titans loss is clearly the Patriots gain.
As Mike Vrabel prepares his team for a return to Tennessee, his players are clearly happy with their coach. The 4-2 Patriots are currently at the top of the AFC East for the first time since 2021.
Behind this success, Patriots players have been outspoken about their coach. On Wednesday, Stefon Diggs said it’s been easy to buy into Vrabel and his system.
“He got me to buy (in). You respect him as a coach,” Diggs said. “Also, being a former player goes into it. He practices what he preaches. He’s going out there grinding, pushing on guys. He’s preaching maximum effort and shows us that our success is a direct correlation from our practice and how we grind. When you buy into the process and see the results, it’s like, ‘Damn, it does work.”
The Patriots have won three games in a row for the first time since 2022. If they win on Sunday, in Tennessee, it’ll be the first four-game winning streak in New England since 2021.
Diggs, who had a fantastic game in Buffalo against his former team, said he expects Vrabel to be the same coach this week.
“You can play with a chip on your shoulder, but at the end of the day, it’s still football,” Diggs said. “I need a lot of things to happen for me to get the ball. I just have to be ready when it’s time, be prepared, and play my game. Don’t get caught up in the hoopla and all the extra stuff. Play football. I feel like coach is going to be the same guy.
“I don’t anticipate him – he can’t go out there and play anyway. But he knows guys like us, we’re going to go out there and play with everything we’ve got regardless.”
