Eagles' Jalen Carter Announces Injury Status for Vikings Game

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter missed Thursday’s Week 6 loss to the New York Giants after he was ruled out with a heel injury.

Fortunately for the Eagles, Carter was able to return to practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for its Week 7 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (hamstring) and offensive lineman Landon Dickerson (ankle) were also on the field for the open media portion of Wednesday’s practice.

When asked about his status for Sunday’s game, Carter gave a clear answer to reporters.

“I’m going to play this week,” Carter said, via team insider Zach Berman of The Athletic.

After beginning the 2025 season with a 4-0 record, the reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles have dropped each of their last two games. Without Carter on the field in Week 6, Philadelphia allowed a season-high 34 points to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and the Giants’ offense.

Through four games in his third NFL season, Carter has 10 total tackles, six QB hits and no sacks. In addition to his Week 6 injury absence, he also missed Week 1 after he was ejected for spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott before the first snap.

While Carter hasn’t lived up to his Pro-Bowl pedigree so far this season, the former No. 9 overall pick did have a crucial field goal block in Week 3’s 33-26 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

The Eagles will look to get their 2025 season back on track when they kickoff against the Vikings at 1 p.m. ET. They’ll then have a Week 8 rematch against the Giants before heading into their Week 9 bye.
