The Arizona Cardinals are off to a rough start to their season. Coming into Week 7, the Cardinals are 2-4, and a matchup with the Green Bay Packers doesn’t bode well for the team to add another dub to the win column.
Pressure is on for head coach Jonathan Gannon to turn things around. This is Gannon’s third season with the Cardinals, but he is still searching for his first winning season with the franchise.

With so much at stake this week, the tension was felt during Gannon’s press conference on Wednesday. However, the ending of the press conference wasn’t something anyone expected.

When asked about when he learned to take emotions out of his job, Gannon replied with an answer that nobody saw coming.

“2007, when our quarterback went to jail,” Gannon said.
Gannon was talking about his tenure with the Atlanta Falcons when Michael Vick was arrested for his involvement in a dogfighting ring.

If the Cardinals’ head coach was looking to deflate the air out of the room during his press conference, I’d say he did just that with that comment.

Emotions are high when a team isn’t living up to their expectations. Gannon knows what is at stake, and apparently, his emotions won’t be what costs him his job.
