How tall is Victor Wembanyama?
No one actually seems to know for sure, although it sounds like the French phenom could be closer to 7-foot-7 than the 7-foot-5 he is currently listed at.

At least, that is what ESPN insider Brian Windhorst believes and if recent comments from former NBA big man Boban Marjanović are anything to go by, it may not be far off.
Appearing on ESPN’s ‘NBA Today’, Marjanović — who is 7-foot-4 — said he finds himself “looking up” at Wembanyama and thinking “no way”.
No way, of course, being in reference to the Frenchman also being 7-foot-5 as he is listed by the Spurs.

Windhorst then revealed that while Wembanyama was initially listed at 7-foot-3 as a rookie “that was a lie” and that the Spurs superstar was actually about 7-foot-5 at that point.
So how about now? Windhorst said he believes Wembanyama is approaching 7-foot-7 and he isn’t the only one that thinks it.
Yahoo Sports NBA insider Kevin O’Connor wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he had been “saying this for a long time”.
“Wemby is 100% near 7’7”. I’ve been around Boban, Tacko Fall, these enormous players. Wemby is taller than them all,” O’Connor wrote.
Bill Simmons, meanwhile, claimed all the way back in March that Wembanyama was much taller than assumed so when the Frenchman was listed at 7-foot-5 earlier this month, he made sure to credit them for showing some progress.

“By the way, congrats to the Spurs for finally admitting he’s 7-foot-5,” he said on the Bill Simmons podcast.
“It’s just little baby steps until everyone admits he’s 7-foot-6, which he actually is. But at least we’re going with 7-foot-5 now.”
As for what people inside the Spurs organisation think? Well, The Athletic’s Jared Weiss asked Mitch Johnson and the San Antonio coach wasn’t too sure but said “none of us are close”.
“So it’s all a guess,” he added.
“I got no clue. I gotta stand on this chair and get the measuring stick, so I know he’s taller than me. 7-something.”
Whatever his actual height may be, Wembanyama was quick to remind everyone of just how freakish a talent he is in his latest preseason game putting up 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting, with 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals in 25 minutes against Indiana.
Wembanyama’s second season in San Antonio was cut short by blood clots in his shoulder, but he has looked healthy and dominant in four preseason games, with Pacers coach Rick Carlisle declaring he couldn’t “ever recall someone who has so much influence on both ends of the floor”.
Teams lying, or at least being inconsistent, with the listed heights of their players isn’t anything new.
Kevin Durant, for instance, has been listed at 6-foot-9, 6-foot-10 and 6-foot-11 throughout his career despite many believing he is closer to 7 feet tall while the man himself believes he is actually closer to the lower end of the spectrum at 6-foot-9.
