Bears’ Caleb Williams Attacks Former Cowboys QB On Social Media (Photos)

The Chicago Bears are riding high after their 25-24 win over the Washington Commanders. The win moved Chicago to 3-2 on the year with a matchup against the 1-5 New Orleans Saints next on their schedule. Following the win, it was Caleb Williams who took to social media to make a point.

His target? Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman.

QB Caleb Williams didn’t seem to impress ESPN’s Monday Night Football commentator Troy Aikman despite leading the Chicago Bears to a thrilling victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 6. Consequently, Williams responded:

The play that has the most fans talking is the big touchdown Williams threw to D’Andre Swift in the middle of the fourth quarter. Aikman referred to the play as “just luck on Chicago’s part,” which had a number of fans absolutely fuming in the hours that followed.

While Aikman would hardly be the first commentator in NFL history to express bias for or against a player (Tony Romo has Josh Allen, Cris Collinsworth has Patrick Mahomes and even the late-great John Madden had Brett Favre), his words didn’t sit well with Williams.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Williams decided to troll Aikman a bit. He shared a couple of memes and photos with the post captioned,

“Nations Cap good being back!

‘It was lucky’ -TA

‘Whooptie Doo’😂😂”

Even though Williams got his licks on Aikman in, fans haven’t stopped criticizing the man for his initial remarks about Williams.

“How can you say that TA holds QBs to a higher standard when he clearly saw (Commanders QB Jayden Daniels) throw a pic, fumble twice and not say anything regarding how JD poor play lost the game? ‘Laughing after throwing a pic is how you keep your team from getting nervous’ WTF is that??” one user remarked.

“But… when you have two QBs make similar mistakes and one is treated differently, it is sort of obvious,” another pointed out.

“Naw, this was a little off from Troy in the past. When Daniels made a mistake out miss throws he said it was unfortunate or gave the Bears defense props for making it difficult. Caleb got lucky, he has to do better, he isn’t accurate, and so on,” a third wrote.

Maybe Aikman was just having fun, or maybe he just wants to see Williams prove that he’s as elite as his former draft position indicates.

Whatever it is, he’s going to be on the Bears’ naughty list this holiday season.
