Chelsea are said to be pushing for a deal for a young attacker who is tearing it up this season.

Chelsea are said to be interested in taking advantage of a contract situation that is playing out on the continent. The Blues have been aggressive in their pursuit of young, talented players over the last 18 months to two years, with a clear transfer strategy of signing young being established by the club’s hierarchy.

The West London club has already accumulated plenty of talent that could serve them for years to come, but the search continues for the next big thing, and there are reports that Chelsea are now chasing a 20-year-old who has been making a name for himself of late.

Kenan Yildiz has been excellent for Juventus this season, scoring five and assisting six in 12 appearances across all competitions this season. The Bayern Munich academy product joined Juve in 2022 and has developed into one of the best young talents in Europe.

He has already earned 25 senior caps for Türkiye, scoring five times along the way. and it’s no secret that goalscoring wingers are not easy to come by.

As things stand Yildiz is under contract with Juventus until 2029, but it’s reported that the youngster is expecting a new deal and a pay rise given his importance to the team.

TuttoSport are reporting that Juventus are having trouble agreeing the deal, with the two parties reportedly £435.205 apart in yearly salary. It’s reported that Chelsea are watching closely, and it’s claimed they are planning to make a transfer offer in the spring of next year, ahead of the summer transfer window, should a new deal not be agreed by then.

Chelsea would still have to pay big money for the youngster, who is valued at £65.2million by Transfermarkt, whose values are usually pretty conservative. Though, if the young winger pushes for an exit, that could pave a way to the deal being done.

Juventus are still said to be working hard on reaching a deal in the meantime, with the player’s father reportedly meeting with the Italian giants recently. The negotiations remain stalled, though, and Chelsea will be hoping they remain that way.

Juve legend Zinedine Zidane said of Yildiz recently: “Yildiz is doing great. He entertains me. Whenever he touches the ball, you can see he enjoys the game. He’s got goals in his feet and a great shot. If I met him, I’d tell him to stay on this track.”
