Nottingham Forest enter race for Brazilian – Tussling with Barcelona for €12-15m deal

During a recent episode of a localESPN Brazil podcast, journalists Bruno Andrade, André Hernan and Bruno Vicari revealed Nottingham Forest have entered the race for Palmeiras defender Benedetti.

This move puts Nottingham Forest alongsideArsenalandBarcelona, who have been following the youngster for months.

The club have reportedly asked for detailed information about Benedetti and could try to move forward with a competitive salary package. However, they cannot offer the same Champions League stage as their competitors.

Brazilian insidersDiego Firmino and Felipe Lemos added that Palmeiras value Benedetti at between €12m and €15m. Any deal is likely to include performance bonuses and a sell-on clause. The club are open to negotiations but only if their terms are met.

With a contract running until December 2029, Palmeiras are in a strong negotiating position. They are not under pressure to sell and could delay the move until mid-2026 if no club matches their price in January.

Benedetti is a 1.97m left-footed centre-back with aerial strength, composure and clean distribution. His physical and technical profile has even drawn comparisons to Dean Huijsen in the Spanish press.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have intensified scouting and are ready to invest from €12m in January. Arsenal continue to monitor the player after signing another left-footed defender, Piero Hincapié. Still, Forest’s arrival could spark a bidding war once the window opens.
