Mikel Arteta‘s side went into the international break with a 2-0 win against West Ham, and will hope to add to their lead over Liverpool against Fulham this weekend.

Arne Slot’s side aren’t in great shape, as they lost their last two league games before the international break, and have some tough fixtures coming up compared to Arsenal. But which side will get more points over their next five, we decided to predict…

Liverpool – 10 points in next 5 games

Liverpool vs Man United: DRAW

Brentford vs Liverpool: WIN

Liverpool vs Aston Villa: WIN

Man City vs Liverpool: LOSS

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest: WIN

Firstly, the Reds face a Man United side who have won two of their last three games under Ruben Amorim. They always seem to come good in the big games, and so could cause Slot’s side some problems on Sunday.

The Reds then play Brentford, and even though it is away from home, we expect Liverpool to win this one. Similar logic with the Villa game, as the Reds have too much quality for their opponents in their third game.

After that, they make the trip to play against Man City at the Etihad which could be very difficult as Guardiola’s side look back to their best, so we’ve said a City win. Finally, Forest are really struggling at the moment, so we have the Reds beating them.

Analysis – 10 points from five games is a decent return, especially after what has been a tough spell for the Reds, it would still leave them behind Arsenal based on our predictions.

Arsenal – 11 points in next 5 games

Fulham vs Arsenal: WIN

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace: DRAW

Burnley vs Arsenal: WIN

Sunderland vs Arsenal: WIN

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur: DRAW

Firstly, we think that Arsenal will come back from the international break with a win against Fulham on Saturday afternoon. However, they then face a very tough Palace side, and so we gave the Eagles some credit and suggested a draw.

The Gunners will likely have too much quality for Scott Parker’s Burnley side, who are battling relegation at the moment and for the rest of the season.

Sunderland have looked great since coming back to the Premier League, but Arsenal should have enough quality to beat them even at the Stadium of Light. Finally, a tough North London Derby against Spurs results in a draw as Thomas Frank has made the rivals difficult to beat since coming into the club.

Analysis – If Arsenal were to get 11 points from their next five games, it would be an impressive return, especially considering those tough games against Spurs, Palace and Sunderland. They would end the period two points ahead of Liverpool if our predictions are correct.
