Real Madrid continue to be linked with a move for Chelsea and Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
In fact, it has been claimed that Real Madrid watched Fernandez’s recent performance against Liverpool and are convinced that they now need to sign him.
Enzo Maresca will be desperate to keep hold of the 24-year-old, who has become such a huge goal threat for the Chelsea manager.
This season, Fernandez has already scored three goals in seven Premier League outings.

Enzo Fernandez hasn’t indicated he wants to join Real Madrid
Fortunately for Maresca, it does not appear that Fernandez is desperate to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Journalist Mark Brus has reported on the Daily Briefing that, while Real Madrid are interested in signing Fernandez, the Argentine has not signalled to Chelsea that he wants to leave the club.
Maresca could be without Fernandez for the Blues’ Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Fernandez is carrying an injury right now, which means he could miss the trip to the City Ground.
Chelsea are already without Dario Essugo, while Andrey Santos was not available for the victory over Liverpool either. An injury to Fernandez is the last thing that Maresca needed.

Why Chelsea aren’t worried about Real Madrid interest
In the past, Chelsea have lost Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid.
Hazard and Courtois were coming towards the end of their contracts, while Rudiger reached his. Ultimately, the Blues were powerless to prevent them from leaving.
However, they are in a much different position with Fernandez. The World Cup winner’s deal does not expire until 2032. As a result, Chelsea are confident they can retain Fernandez.
If not, the Conference League holders do seem to have a shortlist of potential replacements.
According to journalist Simons Phillips, Chelsea have identified Kobbie Mainoo and three other Premier League midfielders as possible successors to Fernandez.
Given his lengthy contract, though, it would be a surprise if the former Benfica man departed Stamford Bridge.
