The Cleveland Browns were desperate for an upgrade at left tackle, which is why they traded for Cam Robinson from the Houston Texans despite him not even being active for one of the worst lines in the league. Robinson made his Cleveland debut in London, playing just seven snaps before starting this past Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He earned a very poor Pro Football Focus grade, but overall played fine, and certainly provided the team with the best left tackle play they've had all season.
Before going down with a scary-looking injury on the final drive of the game (though he did practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday, which is a very encouraging sign), Robinson played 80 offensive snaps, surrendering five pressures on 56 reps and being hit with a rough 27.4 PFF pass-blocking grade, while being flagged for holding, a false start, and an illegal formation. On paper, that doesn't sound good at all, and Robinson did have his fair share of struggles, but his tape also shows superior pass protection than what the Browns have gotten out of the LT position to this point, and hope that Robinson's consistency will improve as he gains familiarity in the offense.
