ESPN analyst believes Philadelphia Eagles can benefit from offensive adjustments for NFL Week 7 …

The Philadelphia Eagles have hit a bit of a rough patch recently after dropping their last two NFL contests, with the offense failing to score 20 points in those two defeats against the Denver Broncos and New York Giants.

ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky feels there are certain things Nick Sirianni’s team can do offensively to get their season heading in the right direction once again, particularly with how they use the skillsets of QB Jalen Hurts and RB Saquon Barkley.

In an appearance on ESPN’s NFL Live, Orlovsky spoke about the potential benefits for the Eagles if they were to establish a more impactful run game.

“They gotta run it better…I’d like to see Jalen Hurts a little bit under center. I’m not saying you have to completely revamp the offense,” he said.

“I think a lot of their run game has been a little bit too side to side for me, I’d like to just get Saquon going downhill. I think that would help their offensive line.”

Orlovsky also added that the run defense of their opponents on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings, hasn’t been too crash hot this year and that there are potential opportunities which Philadelphia’s offense can exploit.

“Run game defensively, they (the Vikings) have not been good. They’re bottom eight in basically everything defensively,” he said.

For reference, Minnesota’s rush defense has allowed an average of 132.2 rushing yards per game so far this season which ranks 24th in the NFL, as per ESPN.

“So if there’s a game that you would actually feel good if you’re Philly, like let’s get our run game going, it’s this one. Coming off of an extended break and against a defense that’s not handling the run good,” Orlovsky continued.

The Eagles never seem to be too far away from discussions about their offense, whether it’s about the passing game and receivers such as AJ Brown, or whether it’s about the ‘Tush Push’ or their overall run schemes.

Either way, figuring out the best way to efficiently and effectively move the ball on Sunday against Minnesota will likely be a key factor in Philadelphia’s attempts to end their two game slide.
