Chelsea are well represented on the shortlist for this year’s Golden Boy award.
Unsurprisingly, Estevao Willian is one Chelsea player who has been nominated for the honour.
The winger was excellent for Palmeiras last season and has made an instant impact at Stamford Bridge this term. After his winner against Liverpool just before the international break, you would expect Estevao to start against Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Todd Boehly has often been criticised for Chelsea’s transfer policy, but the Golden Boy shortlist is proof that the club may actually know what they are doing in the long term.

Estevao Willian, Jorrel Hato, Mamadou Sarr and Geovany Quenda all nominated
On top of Estevao, one of the Brazilian’s current Chelsea teammates, Jorrel Hato, has also been nominated for the Golden Boy award.
Mamadou Sarr, who is currently on loan at Strasbourg, has made the shortlist, too.
Geovany Quenda is in contention for the award as well and is set to move to Stamford Bridge next year, making it four Chelsea signings who have made the list.
Despite impressing for club and country this season, Quenda will not be joining Chelsea early.
Once he arrives, though, Blues supporters can be excited. In the future, Enzo Maresca or whoever is in charge of the club could have an incredibly talented team.

Chelsea’s potential line-up in near future
It will not be long before Estevao is a permanent fixture in Chelsea’s starting XI. Despite having only just arrived from Brazil as an 18-year-old, the winger has already made four starts in the Premier League.
Similarly, Hato is already playing games with Chelsea’s first team following his move from Ajax.
If Sarr and Quenda can successfully integrate into Chelsea’s squad, it may not be too long before all four players are sharing the pitch together.
Chelsea's potential starting XI in the near future
All in all, Boehly and the club’s plan certainly has a lot of potential. Chelsea fans just need to be patient.
