Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen suffered a calf injury during Spain’s training camp this FIFA break and remains questionable to face Barcelona on October 26th. It looks like Huijsen will almost certainly miss the upcoming games against Getafe and Juventus, so making his return to the field in such a crucial match like El Clásico would be risky.
While there was optimism around the club that Huijsen would be 100% ready to feature against Barcelona, the Spanish center-back would have to complete at least one training session with the group in the next nine days if he wants to recover in time, and that’s far from a certainty at this point in time.
If Huijsen can’t play, Militao and Raúl Asencio would start in the center of the defensive line, with Fede Valverde on the right flank and Álvaro Carreras on the left. Huijsen’s ability to distribute the ball from the back line would be sorely missed if he can’t face Barcelona.
