Chelsea ‘know all about’ Europe-bound Ian Subiabre
His international teammate, Ian Subiabre, has enjoyed a very strong showing in the tournament too. He has found the net twice in his six appearances.
Transfer insider Graeme Bailey has exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that Chelsea are one of the sides who have put plenty of work in to scouting players at River Plate, after the success stories of Claudio Echeverri and Franco Mastantuono.
He said: “There’s Ian Subiabre, the River Plate boy who I understand probably will be moving to Europe in the coming year. These River Boys have been pretty good. there’s been a few different ones, but obviously Echeverri, he’s gone to City, he’s going out alone.
“Mastantuono has actually had a better impact than to be fair than anybody thought not just Chelsea, but because everyone was interested in Mastantuono as we know, but his impact has actually caught a few teams by surprise.
“Subiabre is the one to keep an eye on and would Chelsea be in for Nebian? They certainly know all about him.”
Who is Ian Subiabre?
Subiabre primarily plays on the right of attack, however has experience featuring all across the frontline since breaking into the first team picture at River Plate.
He was part of the Club World Cup side in the United States, however didn’t play a minute in the competition which was eventually won by Chelsea.
The Blues already have plenty of young players coming through in the attacking positions, with Estevao Willian already making his mark at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea also have promising talents in Geovany Quenda and Kendry Paez to come, making it very difficult to see how whoever is in charge is going to fit all of these players into a future side.
