Crazy Stat Emerges About Xavier McKinney This Season

The Green Bay Packers have a true shutdown defender in Xavier McKinney.

The safety is such a stopper that opposing quarterbacks haven’t even dared to target him.

As crazy as it may seem, McKinney hasn’t been tested once this season.

“Xavier McKinney has been targeted 0 times this season. This indicates that no passes have been thrown his way so far in the current season,” Bruce Edmunds wrote on X.

That goes to show what opposing offensive coordinators think of him.

That’s unsustainable, of course, and it’s just a matter of time before someone takes a chance and challenges him.

Obviously, he’s going to be ready when that time comes.

The Packers’ defense has been much better since Jeff Hafley became its coordinator last season.

They have a strong secondary and a stout front seven, and they’re good enough to control any team, even in the few instances when their high-flying offense hasn’t been playing well.

As the adage says, offense can win games, but defense wins championships, and that’s what the Packers are striving for right now.

They have all the resources they need to shut down every opponent they come across, as they’ve shown by handling the explosive offenses of the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders.

As long as McKinney is out there, opposing quarterbacks will have a reason to hesitate.
