Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's response to being presented with a fake Manchester United contract spoke volumes. With current boss Ruben Amorim struggling for consistency, United could be on the hunt for a new head coach at some point soon.
The Red Devils have struggled to bounce back from a disappointing end to last season, losing three of their first seven Premier League matches in 2025/26. Money was splashed in the summer, but performances are yet to pick up and the pressure is piling on the manager.
One name that has been loosely mentioned as a potential successor if Amorim gets the boot is ex-Liverpool boss Klopp. The idea of Klopp signing for the Reds' arch-rivals is practically unthinkable, but we were given a small insight into how he might react to a United offer back in 2024.
Liverpool had just been knocked out of the FA Cup by United in what was Klopp's final season at the helm before Arne Slot took over. The defeat was a bitter pill to swallow as young Amad Diallo clinched Erik ten Hag's team's victory in the final moments.
Upon entering the press room, ready to address the media in an understandably sour mood, a peculiar piece of paperwork appeared in front of Klopp. As the German coach settled down for his press conference, he held up what seemed to be a signed United contract, expressing his bewilderment. But things were not as they appeared.
Popular YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., had been at Old Trafford that day. As part of his visit, he signed a mock Manchester United contract in front of the cameras.

The internet sensation, known for his wild antics in videos, visited the iconic stadium due to his admiration for club legend Cristiano Ronaldo. The 20-year-old American was given a warm welcome by United, who offered him a tour of the dressing room, presented him with his own jersey, and invited him to the press room where he signed the fake document.
It remains unclear whether this was deliberately left behind to ruffle Klopp after the match, particularly as his tenure at Anfield was drawing to a close that summer. Regardless, Klopp seemed nonplussed by the incident.
Thankfully for Reds fans, Klopp resurfacing at a rival club - or any club for the matter - doesn't seem likely . After stepping down from his role at Anfield, he took up a behind-the-scenes position with Red Bull as their Head of Global Soccer.

In the immediate aftermath, he claimed Liverpool would be his last job in management. Reports have since surfaced that he'd be open to taking the Germany job if it was offered to him, however.
That said, last month Klopp hinted that a return to football management wouldn't happen. When asked by The Athletic if he missed being a coach, he responded: "Not. At. All.
"I was super happy with the way Liverpool performed [last season]. I watched some games. But it is not like, 'Oh, it's Saturday!' I didn't know when games started.
"I was just out. I played sports. We enjoyed life, spent time with the grandkids, completely normal stuff, knowing I will work again. But knowing as well, that I don't want to work as a coach anymore."
