Dominika Paurová out for season due to ACL tear

Some unfortunate news is coming out of Lexington, as Kentucky women’s basketball redshirt sophomore guard Dominiká Paurova tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and is out indefinitely, the school announced.

Paurová, a Czech Republic native, was entering her second year at Kentucky. She played her freshman season at Oregon State in 2023-24, averaging 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

Sadly, she never got to play for UK last season in Kenny Brooks’ debut season. Paurová suffered an ACL tear on July 14th while competing in a FIBA U-20 game for the Czech Republic.

That means Paurová will miss consecutive seasons due to ACL tears. Hopefully, she’ll be able to get a medical redshirt for an additional year of college basketball after redshirting last year.

Paurová showed a lot of promise while at Oregon State, so here’s to hoping she gets back onto the court next year and shows what she’s capable of.
