Ryan Babel has admitted one of his former team-mates was the 'tenant from hell' after renting his Merseyside home out.
The former Liverpool winger bought his first house after joining the Reds in 2007.
Tim Howard reveals the crazy things Royston Drenthe did during his time at Everton...
Babel was just 19 at the time, going on to spend three-and-a-half years at Anfield.
After making 146 appearances for the club, he left for Hoffenheim in January 2011.
Later that year, his compatriot Royston Drenthe completed a loan move to Everton from Real Madrid.
The pair had played together for the Netherlands at both youth and senior level, including at the 2008 Olympics.

As a result, Babel rented out his house to Drenthe during his time with the Toffees.
However, this was a move he would live to regret, which he has now revealed on social media.
In a post announcing the house was up for sale, Babel wrote: "This house holds so many memories.
"It was the first place I moved into after leaving my parents’ home, full of excitement, mistakes, and lessons.
"When I left Liverpool, I rented it out to a few tenants. One of them being my good old Dutch team-mate Royston Drenthe. Let’s just say he gave ‘tenant from hell’ a new meaning.
"He somehow forgot to pay rent during his Everton days and even decided to build a nightclub inside my house without permission. You can’t make this stuff up!"

After told by a fan that he should have known better, Babel added that he had 'tried to help him settle' after his move to Goodison Park.
He also revealed the nightclub and rent antics were only '10 per cent' of the story.
Drenthe would go on to make 27 appearances for Everton during the 2011/12 season.
His crazy antics were not limited to his behaviour at Babel's home, though.
Former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard lifted the lid on the Dutch midfielder's time at the club back in 2023.
Howard labelled the loanee 'horrific' during an appearance on Ben Foster's Fozcast.

The American explained: "In comes Royston in Rolls Royces to the training ground. Balls in with his shoes untied.
"He’s having to run the perimeter of the training ground because he was always late. Eyes are half open.
"And I’m thinking, ‘You were just at Real Madrid, what are you doing here? This is weird, man.’
"I guess he never heard of CCTV or something, he ends up coming to the training ground in the middle of the night with friends and they’re in the hot tub.
"We’re just thinking, ‘you’re at the wrong club here, mate.’"
Drenthe would be released by Real Madrid following his loan spell at Everton, having made 65 appearances in five years with the Spanish giants.

He would go on to have stints in Russia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and his native Netherlands before retiring aged 36 in 2023.
Drenthe also returned to England with both Reading and Sheffield Wednesday later in his career.
