Leeds United are set to finalise a new contract for Harry Gray in the very near future, which comes after a cryptic update on the youngster’s social media.
This week, Leeds’ sporting director Adam Underwood outlined the club’s vision to establish themselves as a top-half Premier League club in the future.

Harry Gray sparks Thursday morning panic amidst Leeds United contract silence
England youth international Harry Gray turned 17 earlier in October. With that, he’s now eligible to sign his first professional contract with the club.
However, no confirmation has come yet on the teenager, which many hope will come sooner rather than later to deter any bigger clubs from signing him on the cheap.

Any lingering fears of a Spurs swoop for another Gray weren’t helped by a development this morning. Gray’s Instagram profile picture was changed to a complete black circle:
Out of context, this would be meaningless. But, it’s a growing trend amongst footballers to do this on social media. Typically, it’s been done to suggest unrest at their current situation.
Largie Ramazani did it as he was frozen out of Leeds’ opening fixtures this season. Yoane Wissa was a high-profile example as he pushed to leave Brentford for Newcastle United, among others to do similar in the past when unhappy.
Graham Smyth issues huge Harry Gray update with brief panic over for Leeds United
Clarity was needed on the matter, given that without it, it looks as though Gray is trying to tell us something through his social media.
The YEP’s Graham Smyth has since shared that it’s a “matter of when and not if” Gray signs a professional contract at Elland Road.
United themselves are expecting to have a deal wrapped up as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Gray’s camp are in the same boat. A deal should be done within the next few weeks.
It should end any momentary panic surrounding the forward’s future. As a result, it’s a huge relief to know that we have Gray’s situation under control.
I don’t think it’s an understatement to suggest that Gray is one of the best talents we’ve produced in decades. So, to have his future sorted for the foreseeable is massive news.
