Packers quarterback Jordan Love has developed a reputation as one of the most efficient and dynamic pocket passers in the sport, and Green Bay has built an emerging and explosive receiving corps around him.
From dropping first-round speed demon into Love’s arsenal after drafting and developing the likes of Jayden Reed, Dontavion Wicks, Romeo Doubs, and tight end Tucker Kraft to continuing to spending big in free agency to land former rushing champion Josh Jacobs, the Packers have built the offense around Love’s ability to execute the scheme at a high level.
This season, though, Love is proving he’s plenty capable of winning with more than his arm.

Through this season’s first five games, Love is doing more than just scrambling around in the pocket, he’s moving the chains, extending plays and buying time for his receivers to break open thanks to his mobility, and executing the offense at an extremely high level.
“Obviously I’ve talked about making it an emphasis coming into this year, trying to do it more,” Love said. “It’s all just a feel thing in the pocket, getting to the top of your drop and really just feeling where the holes are at and the lanes to kind of get out.”

Love already has 88 rushing yards, and as the team’s official website points out, most of those yards stem from 20 scrambles, which shows his ability to make things happen even when the play is collapsing in the pocket.
Even if Love has been productive on the ground, some of his more fleet-footed teammates can’t help but chuckle when their quarterback takes off on the run.
“We call him ‘Silly Body’ because his body just looks funny when he runs,” Golden told reporters, of Love. “He makes it happen so it’s kind of funny. I think it just goes back the competitive mindset Jordan has to make something out of nothing. Obviously, it showed when he had to run out of the pocket and get us a first down.”
