Analyst Proposes Blockbuster Giants, Saints Trade

The New York Giants have a renewed sense of hope and excitement ever since quarterback Jaxson Dart took over for Russell Wilson, especially after the rookie helped the team dismantle the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6.

While it’s possible the Giants might already be too far behind to make the playoffs, it’s not out of the question, which is why there are whispers that they could be aggressive at the NFL trade deadline.

Analyst Doug Rush recently proposed a deal that would have the Giants send a fourth-round pick and a seventh-round selection to the New Orleans Saints for wide receiver Chris Olave and a sixth-round choice.

With the Giants considered to be “big game hunting” for a wide receiver before the trade deadline, the other popular receiver on the market aside from Jaylen Waddle seems to be Saints WR Chris Olave.

So what could a possible trade offer look like? Here’s my proposal:

After an injury-plagued 2024 campaign, Olave is off to a good start this season with 39 receptions for 342 yards and one touchdown, and at 25 years old, he has the potential to be the Giants’ long-term WR2 alongside Malik Nabers.

On paper, Olave would be a great fit and would make Dart’s life easier, and with New Orleans’ future much more uncertain than New York’s, his name is going to come up a lot in trade rumors over the next few weeks.

The Saints have already exercised the fifth-year option on Olave’s contract, so if the Giants do trade for him, it would be wise to extend him as part of the deal.

It’s only speculation, but Olave could be a massive addition for the Giants’ offense this year and in the future.
