Arsenal suffer fresh blow with 2 stars absent from team training, £45m ace returns

Arsenal have been handed an injury boost ahead of the Premier League clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The Gunners moved to the top of the league table earlier this month after Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on the road.

The club have a slender one-point lead over the Reds, and have the chance to extend the advantage with their favourable schedule.

Ahead of Saturday’s game at Fulham, Arsenal have received a timely boost with summer signing Piero Hincapie back in training.

The Ecuador international signed for the Gunners on loan from Bayer Leverkusen with an obligation to buy for around £45 million.

He has since managed just one substitute appearance in the Champions League before picking up a minor groin problem.

Hincapie has not been in the matchday squad since his debut in mid-September, but looks poised to make his comeback.

While Hincapie has returned to full training, Ben White was missing from today’s session. Manager Mikel Arteta should provide an update on the right-back’s condition in tomorrow’s press conference.

Midfielder Martin Zubimendi watched the training session on the sidelines alongside sporting director Andrea Berta. It remains to be seen whether he has picked up a knock on international duty.

Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke and Martin Odegaard are already confirmed absentees for Saturday. Odegaard could be sidelined until the November international break after picking up a medial cruciate ligament injury during the 2-0 win against West Ham United.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have not won in their last two visits to Craven Cottage. Fulham are missing some key players due to injuries, and the Gunners have the ideal opportunity to end their winless streak at the stadium.
