When it was first announced that Bill Belichick would be the new head coach for the North Carolina football program, many were shocked. UNC went all in with the greatest NFL head coach of all time, but things haven’t been rainbows since his arrival.
The highly publicized relationship with his twenty-something-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has grabbed a few headlines. But on Thursday, the Tar Heels’ general manager, Mike Lombardi, told those headlines to hold his beer.

Pablo Torre dropped a bombshell on his X account when he shared that Lombardi made a trip to Saudi Arabia before the start of the season to do some fundraising for the Tar Heels’ football program.

Multiple sources tell me that UNC general manager Mike Lombardi left the team in August, two weeks before the season-opener, to fundraise in Saudi Arabia.

As you could imagine, that report immediately became a trending story. Many around the college football world had something to say about the reported trip.

Belichick was a coach who seemed to always find a way to stay out of the media, or at least attempted to keep everything in-house in New England.
However, his short tenure with UNC has been the exact opposite. It almost makes you wonder if he had a vendetta against the Tar Heels, and this was his way of making sure the program would be better six feet under.
