Cowboys receive major boost as Dak Prescott drops update on CeeDee Lamb

Week 7 brings a critical clash for the Dallas Cowboys against the Washington Commanders, and timing couldn’t be better for Dallas. A victory here could help the Cowboys regain momentum in their pursuit of NFC East supremacy, with bragging rights very much on the line.

The real story, though, centers on health. Thursday’s injury report delivered exactly what Dallas needed to hear.

CeeDee Lamb returned to practice, and quarterback Dak Prescott couldn’t contain his enthusiasm about the star receiver’s readiness.

“A lot of excitement, I’ve seen just the last two days of practice, he looks good. He’s ready to go. I mean, obviously, I saw him last week and during the rehab, and probably could have went, but he’s ready to go. Looks great. It’s gonna be fun,” Prescott said, per Ali Jawad on X.

Lamb’s return addresses a significant void in Dallas’s offense. The All-Pro receiver missed three games after suffering an ankle sprain in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears.

Dak Prescott on the chance of having CeeDee Lamb back for Week 7:

While the team could have activated him last week against Carolina, the Cowboys chose to let him heal fully rather than rush back.

Through two games this season, Lamb has accumulated over 220 receiving yards but remains without a touchdown. That hunger likely fuels his eagerness to get back on the field. His absence left Dallas’s offense struggling.

The Cowboys produced their worst outing of the season without him, and while George Pickens has stepped up, the unit clearly missed Lamb’s explosiveness and rhythm.

Now he’s back to sprinting and cutting like himself again. For an offense that hit a wall without its star receiver, Lamb’s return changes the entire equation heading into Washington. Getting him healthy for this crucial matchup restores the spark the Cowboys desperately needed.
