Hollywood star Keanu Reeves shares origin of Pittsburgh Steelers fandom

The Pittsburgh Steelers have always been more than just a football team. Six Super Bowl titles, an unyielding fanbase, and a blue-collar legacy that mirrors the steel mills defining their city, it’s all part of what makes this franchise different.

So when Hollywood star Keanu Reeves appeared on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce, he didn’t hesitate to share where his loyalties lie.

“My childhood heart is with the Steelers,” Reeves said, drawing cheers from the hosts.

The timing of his confession couldn’t be better for Pittsburgh fans. The Steelers have opened the 2025 NFL season with a 4–1 record, sitting atop the AFC North heading into Week 7, their best start since 2020.

Travis acknowledged the momentum with a simple observation: “They’re rolling right now.” Jason added with pride, “They’re leading the North right now baby.”

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason, has been central to this success. The 41-year-old has managed games efficiently, completing over 65 percent of his passes through five games.

What really stood out during the conversation was Jason Kelce’s take on the franchise itself.

“I think the Steelers is the best name in football. It’s such a.. strong name. It represents the community so well, like, it’s an embodiment of the people that literally built the city. And a lot of the United States. I just think it’s a fantastic ethos to a city,” Kelce said.
