As the NFL trade deadline approaches, New York Jets’ Breece Hall has emerged as the most talked-about running back on the market, as explained by ESPN’s Dan Graziano. Despite his insistence that he wants to remain with the Jets, his team’s winless record has fueled speculation about a potential trade. With Hall entering the final year of his contract, multiple teams are eyeing him as a valuable asset they could acquire to bolster their backfield.
ESPN’s latest analysis has highlighted Hall’s situation as a focal point in upcoming trade discussions. Teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers, and New England Patriots are reportedly monitoring Hall’s status closely. The Jets may be compelled to consider a trade, especially given their struggles this season and Hall’s contract situation, which complicates their long-term plans.

Hall, who has proven to be a versatile player, could provide immediate impact for teams looking to enhance their rushing attack. His ability to contribute as both a runner and a receiver makes him an appealing option for contenders. The Jets, however, face a dilemma: their need for depth in the backfield contrasts with the potential return they could receive for a talented player like Hall.
In addition to Hall, other running backs are drawing interest as the trade deadline nears. Jerome Ford from the Cleveland Browns, Jaylen Wright of the Miami Dolphins, and Devin Singletary from the New York Giants are also being discussed as potential trade candidates. This reflects a broader trend in the league, where teams are actively seeking to address roster deficiencies.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano Names New York Jets’ Breece Hall as Most Likely To Be Traded Before NFL Deadline

As it stands, Hall is the the most likely player to be traded before the deadling. This is detailed more in an analysis by Dan Graziano for ESPN.
Graziano: The name that comes up most is the Jets’ Breece Hall. He’s 24 years old and in the final year of his contract, and the Jets have made no move to sign him long term. Braelon Allen is out because of a knee injury, which complicates things for the Jets from a 2025 depth-chart perspective. But Allen is only 21 years old and under contract for two more years after this one.
They also like Isaiah Davis, who is 23 and also signed through 2027. So there are plenty of reasons Hall might not be in the Jets’ long-range plans, and they could be open to a nice offer. Teams I expect to have interest in acquiring a running back ahead of the deadline include, but are not limited to, the Chiefs, Texans and Chargers.
As the deadline approaches, the Jets must weigh their options carefully. Hall’s future in New York remains uncertain, and a trade could significantly alter the team’s dynamics. The ongoing speculation surrounding his status is likely to intensify in the coming weeks.

Hall stands out as the most likely running back to be traded before the deadline. With numerous teams interested and the Jets struggling, the coming days could determine whether he remains in New York or embarks on a new chapter with a different franchise.
