Kyshawn George entered the preseason with plenty hype surrounding himself and a potential breakout season.
The former first round pick showed plenty of flashes during his rookie season with the Wizards, but even then expectations were a bit tempered when it came to the type of ceiling the oversized guard could possess.
However, when Summer League came around, it was clear that the Miami product had put in the work during his time off that could change everything about is future with the Wizards.
George had already shown flashes of his playmaking ability, which alone served as a valuable skillset in today's current state of the NBA.
A wing who can put the ball on the floor and facilitate proves value to nearly any team in the league, especially one who do it on the type of level George could.
Nonetheless, his improved jumper in Summer League immediately made it clear that the young playmaker could be in line for a huge season.
But it wasn't just hit improved jumper that suggested a big leap could be looming.

And being slotted into a starting role courtesy of the absence of Bilal Coulibaly, George has impressed.
On Thursday though, George put together his best game of the preseason and it should give Wizards fans the belief that they may have more than one breakout candidate
In the loss against the Pistons, the forward put on an absolute show not only offensively, but defensively too.
The two-way player put together multiple impressive stops while defending Detroit star Cade Cunningham, and offensively, totaling 20 points and two assists, while shooting 8/11 from field goal range.
George looked aggressive and he played with the tempo and fast pace that head coach Brian Keefe has made it clear he hopes his team can prioritize this coming season.
If the Wizards second-year man is able to put together a strong season, Washington's rebuild could take a major step forward, especially if George isn't the only player to emerge as a potential building block for the future.
Heading into the regular season, George has all the momentum on his side to hit the ground running .
