It would appear the West Ham purge of all things Tim Steidten is set to continue in January, with yet another of his transfers likely to leave the club.
This time, it’s the turn of £20 million teenager Luis Guilherme, who has failed to live up to expectations in East London. But to be fair, he hasn’t exactly been given much of a chance.
Speaking to a reliable transfer source today, Claret & Hugh were told: “It looks like his time is up.”

Our source continued: “The next few games will reveal a lot. If he doesn’t get a chance with Füllkrug out and the team crying out for pace, he’ll stand no chance after the transfer window.”

Guilherme is wanted in Brazil
Lack of Game Time Could Seal Exit
Guilherme hasn’t had much of an opportunity under either Julen Lopetegui or Graham Potter, and it’s too early to tell what Nuno Espirito Santo will decide. As our source has pointed out repeatedly, West Ham rejected the chance to offload the Brazilian wonderkid to Flamengo last January for almost the same fee they paid.
A top club source told Claret & Hugh at the time that “Tim [Steidten] overpaid for Guilherme,” so it’s fair to assume little has changed at the club since then.
There are a number of players on the for-sale list this January, and unless Guilherme gets some first-team action immediately, it looks increasingly likely he’ll be off. Our source added:
“There is still interest in Brazil.”
