Jacob Ramsey has been spotted in full Newcastle United training and could feature against Brighton this weekend.
Jacob Ramsey has been pictured in full Newcastle United training ahead of his expected injury return.
The midfielder has not kicked a ball for the Magpies since suffering an ankle injury against Leeds United on August 30. Eddie Howe revealed he was recovering well from his setback and could feature in the win over Nottingham Forest a fortnight ago.
However, Ramsey - capable of playing as a No.8 or out wide - did not make the matchday squad. Howe confirmed he felt it was best for the 24-year-old to continue his recovery over the international break.

Ramsey’s return would be much-needed as the injury list has already begun to pile up just two months into the new campaign. Speaking to reporters following the Forest victory, Howe told reporters: “He’s good. He’s trained for two days, I just made the decision that I didn’t want to risk him and potentially set him back again. I want to give him the two weeks of the international break to make sure he is ready for the next game.”

A video released by the club’s social media team shows Ramsey playing a game of “football tennis” with his new teammates. Fans could be forgiven for missing this subtle detail, with the £40million man only appearing for a split second alongside Nick Woltemade.
Newcastle are preparing for two mammoth games against Brighton and Benfica. Rotation is key for the Magpies as they aim to learn from the mistakes of two years ago, when a wafer-thin squad struggled to cope with the added European demands.
Why Jacob Ramsey joined Newcastle United
After signing for Newcastle, Ramsey highlighted Howe’s record of developing England internationals as a key reason behind his move. He said: "I'm delighted to be here. It's been a mad two or three days, but I'm really happy to be here and I can't wait to get started.
"This is a big move for me, but as soon as I knew the gaffer was interested and really liked me, it didn't take much time to decide. His track record of developing players, especially those who have gone on to become internationals here, speaks for itself.
