Juventus star claims Arsenal actually have a player who’s better than Phil Foden

Phil Foden has been one of the most exciting players in the Premier League during the last decade, but a member of the Juventus squad believes Arsenal boast someone even more talented.

Foden burst onto the scene back in 2017, being a rare example of a Manchester City academy star who has been able to break into Pep Guardiola’s team of worldwide stars.

Since then, Foden has won the PFA Youth Player of the Year award twice and the PFA Player of the Year award once, putting together some incredible individual performances.

Despite everything he has achieved in the game by age 25, there appears to be a new name within the division who is now outshining Foden.

Lloyd Kelly has backed Bukayo Saka as a better player than Phil Foden

Speaking to Juventus’ Against All Odds podcast, Lloyd Kelly made it clear he believes Bukayo Saka is a better player than Foden when asked to compare the two men.

The former Newcastle United defender has had the opportunity to play against Saka and Foden before moving to Italy, giving him firsthand experience on what both of the talented forwards are capable of.

Roy Keane admitted he’s no longer surprised by Saka’s quality output, as he has shared just as much praise for the Arsenal winger as Kelly.

Saka has been named England’s Men’s Player of the Year and Arsenal’s Player of the Year twice, while also capturing the PFA Youth Player of the Year during the 2022-23 campaign, having become a significant member of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

How Bukayo Saka compares to Phil Foden

While Kelly has made his personal pick between the two talented superstars, the statistics from their individual careers showcase the tremendous output that they both provide.

Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden’s club stats

The statistics show there is very little to separate them regarding their overall output, although Saka does outshine Foden internationally. He has scored 13 goals compared to Foden’s four and played one game more for England.

On the other hand, Foden dominates when it comes to overall honours. He has lifted the Premier League, Champions League, and both domestic trophies, with Saka having only won the FA Cup and the Community Shield for Arsenal.
