“It would be great” – Player keen to join Nottingham Forest as contact made

Nottingham Forest have shown interest BK Häcken’s Silas Andersen, according to Friday’s edition of Ekstra Bladet.

The 21-year-old struggled at FC Utrecht and left them for Häcken in January. The move has worked out well as he’s played 36 matches for the Swedish club.

Ekstra Bladet say the midfielder, who can also operate as a centre-back, has become a fan favourite at Häcken. His performances haven’t gone unnoticed in the Premier League where Nottingham Forest are named as a suitor.

The report states several clubs have expressed interest in the Dane, this includes Forest.

FC Copenhagen have tried to bring the player back to Denmark. The newspaper relays that and also Fotboll Direkt’s claim that a Premier League club have made an offer.

Nottingham Forest interest welcomed

Ekstra Bladet have interviewed the versatile player. He spoke about Nottingham Forest’s approach.

“There has been something with Nottingham Forest, but there has been quite a lot. There has been a lot of interest, but then there has not really been anything [concrete]. That is also what is difficult when you hear of interest. You just wait for the bid,” he said.

When the newspaper specifically asked whether Nottingham Forest would interest him, Andersen explained: “Yes, yes. The Premier League is the Premier League. It would be great to join [them].”

The Dane’s contract with Häcken lasts until December 2028. Andersen would like to take the next step in the near future. At the same time, he doesn’t want to get distracted by a possible transfer.

“Of course, you think about it when it comes. You hear and read about it. But I try to focus on it as little as possible and then just enjoy myself and have fun on the pitch,” he added.

“It’s hard to sit around, but it’s also happened so quickly that I don’t mind waiting another six months to a year. If I just keep performing at the level I’m doing, the clubs will probably come too.”

Now it’s over to Nottingham Forest.
