Leeds recent good form at Burnley
The Whites of course pipped Burnley to the Championship title in May after a fabulously close season saw both sides reach one hundred points. You'd have to go back to the last time Burnley won the second tier for their last triumph over Leeds on home soil.
In April of 2016, a Scott Arfield goal within the first minute of the match saw Burnley claim a 1-0 win over the Yorkshire side. However in the four games since that, Leeds are unbeaten. The Whites have won two and drawn two - one being a penalty shootout win in a frantic League cup game in 2017.
A highlight win though, has to be the 4-0 thumping when an inspired Rodrigo Moreno put Burnley to the sword with a quick fire brace back in 2021.
Post International worries?
Both of these two sides have had players away on international duty, in the latest round of fixtures, and both managers will be hoping that all of their lads playing across the globe over the last two weeks come back fit and ready for this important game. Both clubs had eight full internationals representing their countries and will be hoping that they can hit the ground running again with the resumption of league football.
Sometimes clubs find it hard to muster a good performance straight after an international window. In fact over the last five years, Burnley have amassed three more points then Leeds in their nineteen fixtures straight after an international break - gaining 24 points to Leeds' 21. Both have very similar records and since Farke has been in charge of The Whites, they have only won three games following an international window, drawing four and losing two.
Both sides lost on their return to action after September's break this season and will be hopeful of better this time round.
Will Jaidon bring his vibes?
Jaidon Anthony has been in fine form to kick off the Premier League season. Four goals in Seven games, he's The Clarets top scorer and could perhaps have England boss Thomas Tuchel on the phone if he continues in this way, but you would be forgiven for forgetting that the twenty-five year old once turned out in the colours of Leeds.
Not used frequently by Farke, Anthony only played just 479 minutes of Championship football for The Peacocks in 23/24 after joining on a season long loan from Bournemouth - scoring one league goal.
In contrast, he played 3,672 minutes of football for Parker, whilst on loan at Burnley last season, starting 42 of the 43 games he was involved in. It's great to see Jaidon enjoying his football again after enduring personal heartbreak while on loan with Leeds. The sky is the limit.
