Gary Neville and Roy Keane agree on what Everton will do against Manchester City

Gary Neville and Roy Keane both think that Everton will do the same thing against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

The Toffees travel to the Etihad Stadium in hopes of causing an upset, but they’ll have to do so without Jack Grealish.

The on-loan star is ineligible to play against his parent club, and that will leave David Moyes with a decision to make over who starts ahead of him.

Hopes for next season will be that Grealish signs a permanent deal for Everton, but at the moment, the £50m buy option seems to be out of the Blues’ price range.

Playing against Manchester City without your talisman is difficult for any team, and Gary Neville and Roy Keane have had their go at predicting the score.

Gary Neville and Roy Keane think Everton will score against Manchester City

Gary Neville and Roy Keane are both expecting Everton to score against Manchester City on Saturday, but the pair do not see the Toffees picking up the win.

The former Manchester United players gave their predictions on the Overlap.

Neville said, “2-1? I think they’ll [Everton] score,” before Jamie Carragher suggested a 3-1 loss for Everton.

Roy Keane then followed Neville’s thought process, stating, “2-1. Everton will get a goal. International break, so when City get two, they’ll ease off, and Pep will go easy due to the travel.”

Everyone at the table was quick to agree that a loss for David Moyes’ side was the most likely outcome, highlighting the difficult task at hand.

Paul Merson has also predicted Manchester City vs Everton, with the pundit pointing out the absence of Jack Grealish being an issue for the club as well.

Everton have only scored against Man City in three of last ten meetings

While Gary Neville and Roy Keane both feel Everton will score, history suggests that is not a likely possibility.

In the last ten meetings between Manchester City and the Merseyside club, Everton have only managed to score in three of those matches.

The most recent came in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad last season, where Jordan Pickford saved an Erling Haaland penalty. Iliman Ndiaye was on the scoresheet, and he’ll be hoping history repeats.

Additionally, Everton have not beaten Manchester City since a 4-0 win back in 2017.

The Blues have it all to do, and here’s hoping that Neville and Keane’s prediction rings true.

If the Toffees can get a goal and keep the game close, there is every chance they can come away with a result.
